[Ebb Pjbbss Association.] WELLINGTON, August 8. Government is being pressed to appoint an official grader of flax in Wellington, his services to be paid for by tho Flaxxnillerj’ Association. Attention ia being drawn to tho fact that v/hila tho gross freight fob flax by the barque Ephiaitcs, from Auckland, ia £2 17a 6d, from here it is £3 sa, plus 5 per cent. The Wellington merchants have endeavoured to obtain a reduction, but unsuccessfully. The explanation of the New-Zealand -Shipping Company ia that in Auckland it hud to light against competition.
