At a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce last night, Mr George, Chairman, spoke of the continued prosperity of the district and said that imports had increased by twenty per cent. He referred to the growth of the district, the quantity of land alienated last year being double that in the previous one. He complained of the neglect of the Justice Department in not providing a courthouse at New Plymouth, no other town of equal importance being, he said, treated so badly.
