RAILWAY RETURNS. SYDNEY, August 8. The railway returns for tne year show a profit of a million and a quarter. THE VICTORIAN CROPS. MELBOURNE, August 8.
Complete returns of cereal crops for the year show tho yield of wheat to be 14,814,000 bushels, oats 4,574,000 bushels, barley 774,000 bushels, potatoes 142,000 tons and hay 740,000 tons. The yield of wheat averaged 11’04 bushels per acre, and of oats 25-75 bushels per acre.
THE DAVIES AND MILLEDGE CASE. Government has decided to abandon further proceedings in the DaviesMilledge case, leaving it to private persons to follow the matter up, if they so desire.
THE WORKING MEN’S BLOCKS SYSTEM.

In compliance with a request from New Zealand, the Premier has forwarded a lengthy report on the working men’s blocks system in this Colony.
