SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The Belfast School Committee met on Monday evening to consider the state of the school in connection with the measles epidemic; present—-Messrs D. Patohett (Chairman), Longman, Nieholls, Scbtt, Hopkins, Thompson and Gilmore. The master’s report showed the averageattendanco for the past month to have been 177, and the number on the rolls '216. The attendance fell last week, through the rapid spread of measles, to 108, and on Monday it was down to 38. It was resolved that the school should be at once closed for ■throe weeks, and that the Education Board should be requested to defer the examination until at least one month after the reopening of the school. The West Oxford School Committee held an ordinary meeting on Monday; present —Messrs Candy (Chairman), A. P. and A. C. Prichard, Anoall and Paget. The master's report showed the average attendance to be 65’4, and tbe number on the roll 140. The small attendance was attributable to measles and bad weather. It was resolved to bring into force the compulsory clause of the Education Act. Messrs A. P. and A. 0. Prichard were appointed visitors. Accounts to the amount of £llßs 4d were passed for payment.
