[Pkb Press Association.J WELLINGTON, August 2. It has been decided that the footballers shall bo met on their arrival and escorted to one of the city halls, where the Governor will be asked to formally welcome them on their return from a victorious tour. In the evening a grand " social ” will be held.

The return match between Christ’s College and a team selected from the Christchurch Post and Telegraph Departments, was played on the College ground yesterday afternoon, and resulted in a win for the College by twenty points (four goals from tries) to eight points (four tries). In the first spell the Colours’ forwards wore too strong for their lighter opponents, and the play was mostly in the College tweuty-fivo. Chambers scored one try and Burgess two. Towards the end of the spell Cunningham intercepted a pass meant for one of the Colours’ three-quarters, and passing in the nick of time to Grigg, the latter made a fine run and scored behind the posts. Hallamore kicked a goal. The score at half-time was—Colours six points. College five. Playing with the wind in their favour, the College backs, by pretty and skilful passing, carried the ball into the Colours’ twenty-five. Macdonald scored behind the posts after a dashing run, and Hallamore converted. Grigg scored shortly afterwards, and Hallamore again converted. Half-way through the spall Wood scored, and Hallamore kicked his fourth goal. for the Colours a few mmitss before time. Mr F. T. Evans was referee.
