ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
SHIP ON FIRE. [Special to Pitass Association.! NEW YORK, July 29. The Oederbank, from Newcastle, N.S.W., has arrived at San Francisco ■with her cargo on fire. Two hundred tons of cargo had been jettisoned, and before the flames ware extinguished the vessel had to be beached and then flooded. THE ABAMAC EXPLOSION. BRISBANE, July 29. A number of ladies on the Aramac ware thrown from their berths and marvellously escaped injury. The passengers had a lively experience, and were unable to reach the deck, owing to the passages being blocked with ddbris. The cabin furniture was smashed to pieces. The body of Andrew Spillard, who has been missing from Waikari since July 14, and who was supposed to have been drowned in the Hurunui, has been found by Constable Johnson, of Culvcrden. It appears that the deceased met his death by falling over a cliff.
