The following notice to mariners appears in to-night's Gazette-.—" With reference to Notice to Mariners No. 2 of Feb. 1, it is hereby notified that Captain Fairohild, of the steamer Hinemoa, reports that he has carefully sounded the passage between Jackson's Head and Beacon Bock at the entrance to Queen Charlotte Sound, and that' there is » narrow channel in the middle of the passage with four and a quarter fathoms at low water, but that a little nearer to Jackson's Head than midchannel there are only two and threequarter fathoma.
