FOOTBALL.
A meeting of all persons interested in the formation of a Thursday afternoon Football Club will be held in the Linwood Football Club rooms this evening. A large number of shop assistants and others have signified their intention of becoming members. An extraordinary general meeting of the Lancaster Football Club was held on Tuesday night, at the Lancaster Park Hotel, the President (Mr T. Quill) in the chair. Mr T. Jones tendered his resignation as a member of the General Committee, and it was accepted. Letters were read from the Mayor of Christchurch andMr Smith accepting Vice-Presi-dencies. Mr T.' Newton was elected to fill the vacancy on the General Committee, and Messrs Woodham and Newton were appointed to the Selection Committee. It was resolved that the General Committee should ba recommended to endeavour to obtain suitable rooms for the Club’s use during the football season. Four new members were elected. The following will play for the East Christchurch Football Club against the rest of the Club Hobbs, Shaw, Page, Marshall, Forbes, Spring, H. Ebert, M’Kendry, M’Guire, Gerard, Clark, Croabie, Samuels, Moriarty and Hammond. The Cambridge Football Club will hold a practice match at North Park on Saturday at 3 p.m. All members are requested to attend. The following will represent the Pirates in a practice match with the rest of the Chib at Addington on Saturday:—Bodger, Sbackleton, Freeborn, Baker, Thompson, Whitey, Simpson, Patterson, Unvto, Merriman, Larcombe, Jones, Wellingt*, Duncan and Menzies. Intending meiubSk are invited to attend. 1 Sydenham v. Cambridge, et North Park —Young, Denham, Patterson, Forrester, Kobson, Thompson, Halliday, Waddell, Thomas, Duncan, Meikleham, Hall, Dobbs, Fellow and Chambers. The following will represent the Albion against the rest of the Club : —Sinclair, Matthews, Brocket!, Griffin (2), Butler, Conneiiey, Haig, M’Kay, Ayroy, Mitchell, Butcher, M’Klaaon, Heady, Bains and A’Court.
The following team will play for Lancaster against the rest of the ClubMills, Woodham, D. Gayuor, Arthur G. Gayaor, Hunt, Machia, Saxon, Evana, Thomas, M’Pbee, Qreig, Millar, Steero, Haydon and Bailey.
