ROAD BOARDS.
MOUNT PEEL. A meeting of this Board was held ba March 17; present —Messrs 0; G. Triggs, G, J, Dennistoun, E. Thew and E. Mackay. —Correspondence was read :—Prom Mr P. : Newman, asking for some posts to repair fence of reserve. Granted,—Prom Mr J, D. Acland, asking for leave of absence.— From Mr Eugene Lorgelly, asking for a few loads of gravel to be put on his road. Granted.—From the Commissioner of Lands, advising the Board to borrow moneys required to form, &0., roads in Arundel village settlement. Clerk to write to Colonial Secretary on the matter.—Prom the Geraldine County Council, asking for the first moiety of Timaru Harbour Board rates, £lsl 3s 3d. The Board decided that as the yearly accounts were to be made up on March 31, this payment be held over for next Board day.—Commissioner of Taxes regarding names on. roll.—Donald M'Donald, asking the Board to substitute Dixon Bros', names on the roll for bis, he having leased to them.— Geraldine County Council asking for list of added names to roll; Clerk to attend to the matter. —Union Bank of Australia, acknowledging the receipt of £0 19a.— Geraldine Koad Board enclosing cheque, £lO, half copt of repairs to boundary road. —Resolved that the Clerk advertise the travelling hat for sale, or exchange for a smaller one.—That all rates unpaid ott March 81 be sued for.—That tenders be called for forming the extension of Shaw's road, and for erecting a trestle footbridge over stream of South the Clerk obtain fifty black birch planks.— That the Overseer inspect road up Black Birch Creek with Mr Tripp, and report on work required. Pay-sheet passed, £9O Os 2d. .
