At the Tinwald Yards yesterday, there was an unusually large entry, considerably over, 20,000 sheep being offered for sale. The bulk of the entry consisted of cross-bred lambs. Breeding ewes, both merino and cross-bred, were also plentiful. Good lambs and good cross-bred ewes sold well, but anything inferior was hard to quit. The sale, on the whole, was not as brisk as last week’s, and a good many sheep were turned oat unsold. There were some particularly nice breeding ewes offered. [FROM OUB OWN COBBISPONDIHT.] INVEBCABGILL, Mxsoe 21. There was a very large entry of sheep at the Invercargill stock saleyards to-day. The largest lines were freezing lambs, culls and aged ewes. Thera waa a com* paratively small entry of fat wethers. The values of fat wethers, maiden ewes and freezing lambs were well sustained, although all the freezing works are blocked tor space until the arrival of the Indramayo, daily expected at the Bluff. Culls 6l any class were difficult to sell, and suffered a drop of Is 6d to 2a pec head. Young sheep in good condition maintained recent values. The top price for freezing lambs was 12s 6d. Store lambs brought 5s to 9s 6d, fat wethers and maiden ewes 12s 6d to 15s 3d. There was a very mixed supply of fat cattle, which were generally of ordinary quality. Prime beef was scarce, and brought full rates, quite equal to 20s per 1001 b. Second and inferior quality realised 15s to 17a 6d.
