SOUTH WAIMAKARIRI RIVER BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of this Board vm held yesterday afternoon 5 present— Mr W. Sew (Chairman), and Messrs R. M. Taylor. J. Glanrille, 0. P. Money and H. Crooks. The Overseer reported that no damage had been done by floods since last meeting. There had been only one small flood in the river. . , Mr Treleaven wrote, stating that he wished to give up the lease which he held e( one of the Board’s reserves at Burwood. This was agreed to. , The Resident Engineer. Railway Depart nant, intimated that he could supply twenty more ‘truck loads of stone at £1 a truck. The offer was accepted. Mr Level wrote, resigning his seat on the Board owing to his transference to Wellington. The. Clerk was instruoisd to take the necessary steps to fill the vacancy. The Clerk to the Templeton Road Board fonrnrded the sum of £62 9s, rates colleoted by him. leaving a balance 0! only of Mr Freeman in this ffiajitar was warmly appreciated, and a vote of th»"ka was accorded him. Mr Crooks gave notice to move at the !!«». meeting—" That a rate of four-sixty-lemrths of a penny in the £ be struck for Miming year, in accordance with the Aot." The Clerk rend a draft letter addressed to (he Mifiiatar for Lands and the Railway Commissioners, in reference to the enesenehment of the river at Chaney’s corner. The draft was approved and ordered to he Accounts amounting to J 873 Os Id were passed for payment. This ended the business.
