[Pek Press Association.] AUCKLAND, March 14. *'■ The trial of Alexander Scott, at the Supreme Court, is adjourned, owing to the breakdown of a juror through illness. Further evidence as to the finding of the body of deceased was taken. WELLINGTON, March 14. In the Supreme Court Clarence Sawyer brought an action against Mr Finney, painter, claimiag £IOO damages for a breach of his apprenticeship indentures. Plaintiff stated that his indentures had eighteen months to run, and that he was discharged for insisting on observing Anniversary Day as a holiday. For the defence it was urged that there was power to dismiss in the deed, and that as plaintiff failed to eive satisfaction it was exercised. The Chief Justice gave a verdict for £ls damages, with costs on the lowest scale. The slander case of Cahill v. Smart was struck out.
