AUCKLAND RACING CLUB’S SUMMER MEEL'ING, [Per Press Association. - ! Third Day. AUCKLAND. Jan. 3. The Auckland Racing Club’s Summer Meeting was concluded to-day at Ellorslie, but the weather was again unfavourable and even worse than it was yesterday. The public, therefore, did not attend in such numbers as usual on Steeplechase day. The ground was very heavy, and the saddling paddock was a sea of mud. In the Auckland Plate, St Hippo had the best of the race all the way, for although Crackfchot was at hie quarters and drew alongside him after seven furlongs had been travelled, the Derby winner never actually gave up the lead, and won easily by two lengths. The Steeplechase, after Fishmonger had made the running for a couple of miles, was reduced to a match between Mangere and Aorere, the latter eventually falling away in the straight leaving Mangere to win by five lengths. The following are the details of the racing:— GRAND STAND HANDICAP, of 100 som One mile and a quarter. 108 Mr W. Wallers’ bh Pinfire, by TorpedoYatterina, 6yra, 7at (Emirs in) 1 133 Mr L, D.
