[Special to Press Association.] ' LONDON, April 12. In the House of Commons to-day, the Postmaster-General,in reply to Mr Henniker-Heaton, said that the business with India would not justify the introduction of a shilling telegraph system with that country. Silver, a shade over 3s 3|d. Wool is very firm. Thirty cases of potatoes by the Ruapehu realised 4s per case. They were landed in good condition. In the annual report of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company it is stated that, owing to the competition in the Colonial trade, it has been found necessary to make a reduction in the rates of freight. The amount available for the annual dividend was ,£35,000, and of this amount the sum of £6OOO was carried forward to next year’s account. Mr J. W. Temple, who formerly held, in conjunction with Mr Walter Savill, the position of Managing Director, has been appointed Managing Director. Mr Walter Savill remains a Director of the Company. SHIPPING. In feed stuffs oats are dull of sale, and sales are restricted to immediate wants only. Sales at late rates are being made. Peas are selling freely at 2s 4d.
