Mails cloaa for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations i Thursday, April 14. For Australian Colonies, except New South Wales and Queensland, and also for United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, via Brindisi (specially addressed correspondence only). Point de Galle, India, China, Japan, &c., and also for Prance, Algeria, Mauritius, Cape of Good Hope, &c. (specially marked per " French packet ” only), per express (to connect with s.s. Waihora at Port Chalmers) at 10.30 a.m.; late fee letters, 10.40 a.m.; guard’s van on express, 11 a.m. For Akaroa and Dunedin, per Penguin, at 11.10 a.m.; late tee letters, 11.20 a.m.; guard’s vau, 12.10 p.m. train. For Kaikoura, per Wakatu, at 3 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m.; guard’s van, 4 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per' Tekapo, at 7.45 p.m:; late fee letters, S p.m.; guard’s van, 9.5 p.m. train. For Northern Ports and Australian Colonies (except Tasmania), per flauroto, at 7.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; guard’s van, 9.5 p.m. train. For South America, United Kingdom and Continent of Europe (specially addressed correspondence only), per Hauroto (to connect with Tongariro at Wellington), at 7.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; parcels, 5 p.m.; guard’s van, 9.5 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Takapuna, at 7.45 p.m,; late fee letters, 8 p.m,; guard’s van, 9.5 p.m. train. Wednesday, April 20.
For United Kingdom, Continent of Europe and America, and West Indies (vi& San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, &c., &c., and also for Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Takapuna, as follows Ordinary letters at 7.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; books and newspapers, 7.30 p.m.*; registered letters, 5 p.m.; money orders, 4 p.m.; guard’s van, 9.5 p.m. train. Tins mail is due in London on May 25. Note.—On Good Friday, April 15, the Post Office will be closed in all its branches. Mails usually closed on Friday will close at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, and the Poat Office will be open on April 14 from 9.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m., for counter delivery of letters usually delivered by lettercarriers.
