Eimutaka, Captain Qreemtreet, will leave No. 7 Wi»sl and anchor in the stream until sfepnt 1C.30 a.m., when she will weigh aaohot wad commence her long journey towards Bio de Janeiro. She had all her cargo on board yesterday afternoon, and her manifest includes meat, wheat, wool, &c, t while she takes a fairly large number of passengers, considering the season of the year. A glance over the vessel yesterday afternoon clearly showed that her officers have spared no pains to get her into applepia order. Her due dates are Eio Sept. 27, and Plymouth Oct. 15. . On dit that Captain Greenstreet, of the New Zealand Shipping Compauy'DE.M.S.S. Eimutaka, is to be appointed to the command ol the Company’s new 6000-ton passenger steamer, which is now being built for the trade between England and New Zealand. Captain Greenstreet has made a host of friends amongst the travelling public, and enjoys the reputation of being one of the most popular commanders in the trade, consequently his many friends will be glad to hear of the confirmation of the report of his promotion to the largest and heat steamer in the trade. The Euahine is expected to leave London for New Zealand about the and of the year, bo if the foregoing statement proves correct, as we have good araason to think it will. Captain Greenstreet will bid good-bye to the Eimutaka in London. Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s cargo steamer Pakeha left Port yesterday evening on her coasting cruise. She calls at Wellington, Gisborne, Auckland, Waitam and Timarn before returning here to 211 up. During her short stay at Lyttelton she has lost very little time in discharging ier car£o. A start was made at 3 p.m. on 'Jffiursday, and by 5 p.m. yesterday she had pub out 735 tons of cargo, which is remarkably good Work, and reflects the greatest credit upon those having charge of the stevedoring operations. By the departure of the Clan M'Leod for Wellington yesterday, and the removal of the barque Ashmore to the stream, the •wharves are left without a deep-sea ship. With the exception of a few of the “ smaller fry,” the Port contains just now only steamers. ■The a.a. Fiado is due from Newcastle on Sept. 6, and will discharge coal on Monday for G.
