LICENSING COMMITTEES.
1 CHRISTCHURCH SOUTH-WEST. The quarterly meeting of the Licensing Committee for Christchurch South-west was hold at the City Council at noon yesterday; present—Mr P. J. Ximbell (Chairman), Messrs J. P. Jameson, R. Westenra, and J. V. Ross. Sergeant Briggs presented the police report, which was of a satisfactory nature. An application from Mr F. E. Thomas, husband cf the licensee of the Royal Hotel, to have the license confirmed in his name was granted. A similar application from Mr P. W. Collins, in respect of the British Hotel, was also granted. This was all the business. LYTTELTON. The quarterly meeting of tho Lyttelton Licensing Committee was held at the Courthouse, Lyttelton, yesterday, there being present Mr J. B; Milsom (Chairman) and Messrs D. Dimoad, A. B. W. Parsons, W. Cook and S. W. Mitchell. The only business before the meeting was an application by John Ashton to have the license of {the Crown Hotel transferred from Mrs Clarke to himself. The application was granted.
