Wheeler for Canterbury, just as he was on the point of being declared elected. [Received Sept, 3, at 8.30 p.m.] DIVORCE. SYDNEY, Sept. 3. In tbe Divorce Court to-day a decree absolute was granted in tbe case of Mr W. M'Millan (ex-Colonial Treasurer) versus Mrs M’Millan, with costs against Brian Darley (actor). The co-respondent’s affidavit of intervention was filed by tbe editor of a weekly paper, on tbe ground that tbo decree nisi was obtained contrary to justice, as tba Judge bad refused the intervener access to papers on tbo ground that be was no party to tbo case. The intervention was disallowed, and the Court directed tbe editor not to publish tbo evidence in tbo case. FIRE. MELBOURNE, Sept 3. Burcton’s five-storey malt-bouso in Flinders street baa been partially destroyed by fire. The total damage is estimated at £IO,OOO. The premises are insured for over £9OOO. FEDERATION.
