Russia has forbidden a proposed Polish pilgrimage to the tomb of St Louis, in Rome. VIENNA, August 12. The woman Schneider, who was arrested with her husband for decoying and murdering servant girls, attempted to commit suicide. Her recovery is hopeless. CONSTANTINOPLE, August 12. It ia reported that the Sultan will pay the ransom demanded by brigands for the two Frenchmen captured at Omourdja, out of his privy purse.
