DOG SHOW.
VICTORIAN DOG SOCIETY. [from our own correspondent.] MELBOURNE, August 12.® The fifteenth annual show of the Victorian Poultry and Dog Society was opened iu the Exhibition Building to-day. There is a splendid display of dogs, and strong competition in most of the classes. Mr F. Biggs’ (Christchurch) Opawa Marquis, by Lome from Opawa Zela, won in the Collie, Derby, Puppy and Colonial-bred classes, and the same owner’s Opawa Una, by Lome from Opawa Zela, secured awards in the same classes. Una was also second in three classes. Mr E. Biggs’ Opawa Zela, by Launcelofc from Mora, won in tho Novice Class, and a team, consisting of Opawa Zela, Opawa Marquis and Opawa Una, won in the Teams Class. Mr R. Wark’s (Christchurch) Britannic, by Champion Metchley Wonder from Lill, was second in tbo Open Collie Class. The Christchurch exhibits attracted much attention, and were greatly admired. The show will remain open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
