THE DEUTSCHE BANK FRAUDS. [Special to L-'bkss association. - } [Received August 3, at 11 a.m.] LONDON, August 1. Tallow, average mutton, 27s to 27s 6d ; ditto, beef, 25s to 25s 6d. Up to date 342,000 bales of wool have arrived, of which 60,000 have been sent forward direct to the manufacturing districts. August 2. Mr Justice Chitty has ordered the English Bank of the River Plate to be wound up. The Court of. Appeal has decided that consignees cannot recover damages from a shipowner for delay in the delivery of goods, owing to a strike in the Colonies or India. Arthur Guinness, Son and Co. have declared a dividend of 15 per cent, and carried forward; £68,000 to the reserve fund, which now amounts to £IOO,OOO. Messrs Allsopp and Co. do not declare a dividend upon tho ordinary shares, but draw £IO,OOO from tho reserve to pay the holders of preferential shares. ROME, August l._ Tho Marquis Eudini denies that it is the intention of the Italian Government to placo a two-million loan on the Berlin market shortly. It has been stated that tho Pope has advanced the Bank of Romo two million francs, to avert its suspension. NEW YORK, August 1. A commercial treaty bat ween tho United States and Spam has been finally concluded. BERLIN, August 1. Investigations show that the frauds in connection with the Deutsche Bank were perpetrated by Frank and Necklar, clerks in the bank, and Sehv/eigev a broker. Neckler and Schweiger have been arrested, but as no trace can be found of Frank, it is believed he has committed suicide. Frank won some two thousand marks in a lottery six months ago and became a gambler. It is stated that the forgeries to twelve million roubles. Markierwitz, a Director of the Bank, also has been arrested. The Bank will not declare a dividend. The Canterbury Frozen Meat and Dairy Produce Export Company, Limited, has received cable advice from London, quoting its brand at 4|d per lb for mutton and sjd per lb for lamb.
