ACCIDENTS AID NATALITIES.

SUDDEN DEATH,

A young woman named Jane Alice Parry, twenty-three years of age, died very suddenly at Gloucester street east on Saturday night. An inquest will be held this afternoon.

A wharf labourer named William Deane met with a rather painful accident on Saturday, at Lyttelton. He was working on board the barque Gleaeida, assisting to load tallow, when he jammed three of the fingers of his right hand between a couple of casks.

A blue - jacket belonging to H.M.S. Curaqoa, who had been in ill-health for some time, slipped on the deck of the vessel on Friday, and when he was picked up it was found that a blood-vessel had broken. The surgeon of the ship attended to the sufferer.
