MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations:— Thursday, July 31. For Northern Forts, por Penguin, at 1.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, and also for South Soa Islands, per Te Anau, at 3 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m.; guard’s van, 4 p.m. train. Friday, August 1. For United Kingdom and Continent of Europe (specially addressed per Orient steamer only), and 'also for Australian Colonies, per express (to connect with s.s. Mararoa at Port Chalmers), at 10.15 a.m.; late fee letters, 10.25 a.m.; guard’s van on express, 11 a.m. For Northern Ports and Greymouth, per Herald at 12.30 p.m.; late fee letters, 12.45 p.m.; guard’s van, 1.25 p.m. train. Note. —The Post Office at Pigeon Bay will be open for Money Order and Savings Bank business on and after August 1.
