THE BISHOP-ELECT.
Yesterday morning the Bishop-clect attended service in the Cathedral as a private member of the congregation. During the day several ladies were busy decorating the choir stalls and chancel screen with flowers.
In order to minimise the danger of a crush it has been decided that no one shall be admitted to the Cathedral grounds without showing a ticket at the gates. The doors will be open at 10.30 in the morning, and seven in the evening. Ticket holders will be admitted by the North and South doors only. Children will not be admitted under any circumstances. No one will bo admitted by the vestry door except those who are to take part in the procession and who have to robe in the vestries. The clergy will robe in the music-room of the tower. At the consecration service in the morning a short pause will be made to allow those who do not wish to communicate to leave the Cathedral. It is hoped that no one will attempt to leave either before or after this interval. At 4 p.m. to-day the newly-consecrated Bishop will receive the clergy and the members of Committees, and the various bodies connected with the Church, at Bishopscourt, The guests at the luncheon to-morrow afternoon will assemble in the Library adjoining the Provincial Council Chamber for the purpose of receiving the Bishop and Mrs Julius. The Canterbury Trades and Labour Council has decided to present an address to the Bight Bev Bishop Julius at the public reception on Friday evening.
