Bell stated that a private Company had a better prospect of successfully conducting an emigration scheme than the Imperial Government. A meeting of Australian Colonists and merchants -will be held next month, -when resolutions in support of Colonial Federation will be submitted. [Scceivod April 30, at 1,20 a.m, I April 29. In the House of Commons to-day Mr J. Chamberlain advocated that the control of land purchase in Ireland should be placed in the hands of County Councils. MEETING OF PARMAMENT. [Fee Pekss Association.] WELLINGTON, Apeil 29. A Gazette was issued this afternoon calling Parliament together for the despatch of business at two o’clock on Thursday, June 19.
