PIGEON FLYING.

The Christchurch Pigeon Plying Ciu flew off its twelfth race this season, iron Temuka, on Saturday last. Eighteei birds, divided between eleven lofts, com peted. The starters would have beei larger, but the Club has lost a number 0 birds which were in training for this race and fear that the sportsmen of the plain have been destroying the voyagers Oi their road home. Several races are com in j off next month from Timaru and Oamaru and the Club would feel obliged if any tru sportsmen who see this will kindly let th birds pass.
