AUCKLAND, Oct. 11,

Notification of the vacancy for the Waipa seat in the House of Representatives was sent to Wellington on Tuesday last for publication in the Government Gazette. Ten days after the appearance of this notice the Speaker’s warrant for the new writ will bo issued.

WELLINGTON, Oct. 11.

Upon consideration, the Speaker of the House of Representatives has decided to declare the Waipa seat vacant at once, without waiting for the Supreme Court to grant letters of administration in the late Major Jackson’s estate.
