[Pbe Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Sept. 20. The Provincial Hotel at the Upper Hutt was burned down at 3 a.m. The fire at osa through a defective chimney. The plaoo was insured in the London and Lancashire Office for £750, and in the Colonial for £300; the stock and furniture in the New Zealand for £SOO, and in the Union for £IOO. Richards, the leasee, estimates his loss at £3OO above the latter amounts. The inmates had a narrow escape, and several other buildings were slightly damaged.
