THE OAMARU ELECTION.
[Pee Pbess Association.] OAMARU, Sept. 19. Mr T. W. Hislop addressed a meeting of the electors here to-night. There were about 1000 persons present. The speaker gave an exposition of the work done by the Government In the way oi* retrenchment and stable economy, and in promoting the settlement of the land, especially in small areas. The speech was well received by the audience, and at its close a vote of thanks and confidence in Mr Hislop was carried unanimously.
