CITY MISSION HOME.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— Allow me, through your valuable paper, to express my sincere thanks to the Rev P. R. Monro and the ladies and gentlemen who so earnestly worked and gave their services for the Scotch concert gratuitously. The proceeds of the concert given for the Destitute Men’s Home realised £22 after expenses were paid, and there are, I think, a few more pounds yet to follow. I need hardly say that it has come at a most acceptable time, enabling the rent to be paid up to June 20, and assisting us to purchase several articles wanted very badly at the Home. The Home is now enlarged and open to any lady or gentleman who is desirous of visiting any day after ten o’clock. The last few days several distressing cases of families without blankets have been visited, and made known to ns, but neither coals nor blankets have as yet been given for distribution. We have no means to give more away. Any who could give some are earnestly asked to do so, for the “ bairns’ sake,” and, as in two very distressing cases, for a very sick mother and a dying boy. “ Every little helps.” The smallest contribution thankfully received at the Home. —I am, &0., T. HERRICK.
