Limited, repot t as follows:We held* or opening sale of the season at the Christchurch Wool and Grain warehouses this morning, • hen we submitted a thoroughly representative catalogue, embracing 874 bales greasy and 402 ales scoured wools; total, 776 pales, ol which 274 bales greasy found buyers at satisfactory rates. Biddings for scoured lots were exceptionally alack, and wa had to paai in the whole of the line* offered. For greasy wools competition was animated up to a level of prices, milking a a/cHna on the openiuff rates of last season of Id to Isa on merinos, and id on cross-breds The priops secured ■were:—Merino, Bd to 7d; qnartar-bied,6J'lltorid; half bred, 6*d to 84d; er .su-bred. 6Jd to BW. Bix bales of half and three-quarter-bred, branded J, from ihe Baoeoour«e Hill district, made the sail*, factory price of 84d, and the crossed T’u clip, of 55 bales was withdrawn at 9d.
