i 9 A general meeting of members of tM above Club was held at the Junction Hotel Bangiora, on Thursday night. There waajj good attendance, Mr C. Jones in the chaiijP A letter was read from the Hon |K' Bichardson, to the effect that as the Ms»-tini-Henri rifle had not been adopted m the English Government, he would not Me able to procure one for presentation to tfiie Club as a trophy, as previously promilad by him. He also asked for advice respiting the matter. It was resolved to refly suggesting that the trophy should be Ale of the new repeating rifles recently adopted by the English Government as the AijSiy weapon. m Mr E. Humphries, senr., formally signed from the Handicapping Committee, and Mr J. Sansom was elected in his plash. The question of the use of two different kinds of ammunition—viz., Kynoch aid English Government—was brought up and freely discussed, the outcome being a resolution to the effect—“ That at all compelations held under the auspices of the CluM, the same kind of ammunition be used cto all members firing; and that any competitor found breaking the terms of tlfc resolution should be disqualified for tra match." j With reference to members of Committle absenting themselves from meetings, JiV was resolved—“ That any Committeeman absenting himself from meetings twice Si succession without apology, or three tinH with, be struck off the Committee, and thM his place be filled by the Committee.” I It was decided to wind up the -eeasoiS with a field day as usual, and Messrs Jfi Boberts, E. d’Auvergne, J. Sansom, J. Oi Josling, and G. Thompson were appointed a Committee to collect prizes. i Mr ,C. Tyler proposed that spoon matches be instituted for the fourth Saturday iM each month. This was seconded by Mr Jfl Johnson, and agreed to. In connection! with these competitions it was decided toy adopt the New Zealand Bifle plan of trial shots. | The Committee appointed to arrange! with the Eifle Volunteers respecting th| use of the range, reported that the fo« lowing terms had been agreed upon:—ThS Volunteers to take possession of the old range and to extend the mound 20ft, ar« make a new mantlet in front of the e» tended portion. The company to pay towards the cost of the work, and aril further expense to be borne by the Biffl Club; the Club to be allowed the use oft the company’s range on any special occal sion by permission of the officers, and tha Volunteers to have the same privilege with regard to the Club’s range.—Th meeting expressed approval of the terms c the arrangement. . „ .
