ROAD BOARDS.

HEATHCOTE. The above Board met on Thursday, May 13, in, the Board room. Perry road, at 3.45 p.m.; present—Messrs H. B. Kirk, G, P. Dryden, G. B. Hales, R. Allan, R. Brown, and R. Martindale.—Proposed by Mr H. B. Kirk—“ That Mr G, P. Dryden bs Chairman for the ensuing year.” Seconded by Mr R. Allan, and carried unanimously. —The receipts were reported to be .£33 3s 9d.—The office hours of the Clerk were altered from 9 to 5 to 10 to s.—The vote of the ratepayers in favour of the diversion of the road through reserve 2171 was approved of.—The Clerk was instructed t» give notice of the intention of the Board ts strike a rate of f d in the £.—Resolved‘.‘To form the road on the west side of "Willock’s gully.”—The letter from ths Selwyn County Council re Board of Health was considered. It was resolved to reply that the Board have no funds to pay its share of the cost. The Clerk was instructed to give Mr J. Marsdeh notice ts remove fence and trees off the Hills road, or the Board will do it.— Be nuisance at Ferrymead, the attention of the Woolstbn Town Board to be called ,to it.—-The following correspondence was read and dealt with:—From Mr G- Simpson, re impounding of cattle. To be referred to the Linwood Town Board.—From Mr T. V. Pyne, re state of Parish street footpath. Ths matter had been attended to.—Prom ths Drainage Board, asking the Board to collect 1885 rates as soon as possible. To bs attended to.—From the Christchurch City Council, re Buckley’s road. Received.— Prom Mr J. Weir, re state of side «f road by Old Valley Hotel. The side channel t* be cleaned out.—After passing accounts for £ll9 4s 7d, the meeting closed.
