Mr J. B. Stansell thus details rthe result of his observations of the weather:—The heavy rainfall of April 28 to 30 has only been exceeded once during the past .2# years. I give the heavy rainfalls during the month of April for the past 20 years:— April, 1869 ... ... 619 jnohes i, 1872 698 ■■ . „ 1876 ... ... 5-13 „ 1 ‘ „ 1886 ... ... 6-47 „ 5 74 inches fell in 36 hours. |
