THREATENED COLLAPSE.

[from oue own correspondent.] TIMARU, Mat 18. To-day it was discovered that one of the walls of Messrs Jonas and Bourn’s auction room had bulged out, and was in a danger ous state. In consequence, the sale of furniture which was to take place to-day has been postponed. It is supposed that the quan tity of grain which has been stored in the upper part of the building has had something to do with the collapse of the wall. The firm have closed their premises, and refused to allow any of the public inside; and they have a number of hands taking down the grain that is in the store-room, shoring up the wall with heavy timber, and taking all precautions necessary to provide for the safety of the building.
