NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the uhriatohuroh Drainage Board called for thac purpose, and held at the office of the Board, in the City of Christ-church, on the nineteenth day of April, 1886, the said Board did resolve and direct that a GENERAL BATE be LEVIEi) for the purposes of "The Christohurch Dißtriot Drainage Act, 1875," and the Acts amending the came; and the eaid Board fixed the amount of the said rate as to so much of the district as is contained within the City of Christ church at THBEE FABTHINGS in the pound upon the rateable value of the rateable property within the said City of Christchuroh, and the Board did rate should be struck should be for that ending on the 31st day of December, 1886, after the said rate is struck, and that the rate shall be payable in ON E SUM on a day to be fixed by the Christchuroh City Council making the same. MEETING of the said Board will be held at the Board's Office, Hereford street, Christohurch, on the eighteenth day of May, 1836, at three o'clock in the afternoon, to confirm the said resolution. 'OTICE is hereby given that, in exercise of the powers in that behalf, conferred on it by "The Counties Act, 1876," and the several Acts amending the same, the Council of the County of Selwyn proposes to raise, by way of SPECIAL LOAN, the sum of £s' 00, for the purpose of making a water-race in the Waimakanri Water-race District, on land to be defined in a Proclamation by the Governor, and for the construction of the necessary works in connection therewith; and also proposes to impose and levy a SPECIAL BATE of not exceeding one-sixth of a penny in the £ sterling upon the rateable value of all the lands within the said District in the said County, as defined in a Bpecial order made on the 26th August, 1884, and amended by special orders made on the seventh day of April, 1886, to secure and pay the interest on, and provide a fund for, the ropayment of the said loan; and notice is hereby given that a MEETING of the BATE PAYEES of the said District will be held on the 21st day of MAY, 1886, at 2 p.m., at the Templeton Public Library, in the said District, for the purpose ef considering the said proposal.
