COTJETENAY. A meeting: of this Board was held on Thursday, May 1, at 10.30 a.m.; all the members present.—Correspondence was read:—From the Commissioner of Crown Lands, covering retur- .'".•. ':■.,• amount of lauds alienated from t'....- > imvi from Oct. 1,1882, to Dee. SI, 18t>K.~- F; * the Selwyn County Council, acknowledging receipt of list of alteration- and additions made by the Board to t;.. valuation roll.—From the Bank of New Zealand, re the Board]s account.—From J. Bcanlan, expressing his inability to commence his contract for metalling for another fortnight.—The Surveyor read his report, and it was adopted.—Resolved—"That as T. Partridge declines to carry out his contracts for metalling on Burnham road, his deposits for same be held forfeit; that J. Scanlan be allowed to carry out his contract for metalling Bealey's road, subject to th&fine for non-completion within the specified time j that C. Thomas be appointed ranger and poundkeeper at Courtenay pound, on his providing the necessary sureties, and that he be allowed to occupy the cottage near the pound at a nominal rent, from the
21st in&t."—The pay-sheet, amounting to £46,4s 4d, having been adopted and passed for payment, the Board adjourned.
