Mails close for the following places as under (subject to the necessary alterations): — Thursday, May 1. Tor Northern Ports, per Southern Cross, at 9.40 a.m.; late fee letters, at 9.50 a.m.; guard's van, 10.25 a.m. train. For Akaroa and Otago, per Hawea, at 11.30 a.m.; late fee letters, at 11.40 a.m.; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Westport, per Mahinapna, at 1.45 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2 p.m.;.guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Otago, per "Wakatipu, at 1.45 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern Ports and Australian Colonies, per Eotomahana, at 3.20 p.m.; late fee letters, at 3.30 p.m. ; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. Saturday, May 3. For East aud West Coasts of South America, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, per s.s. Tongoriro (specially addressed correspondence only), at 8 a.m.; late fee letters, at 8.15 a.m.; guard's van, 9.5 a.m. train.
