TINNEVELLY MISSION.

A meeting of the Committee of the Tinnevelly Mission Association was held '.at Christ's College on Monday afternoon; present—The Von Archdeacon Harris (in the chair), the Eevs H, C. M. Watson and F. Knowles, Messrs C. E. Blakiston (hon. Treasurer), D. Griffiths (hon Secretary) and J. Slater. The Secretary reported having received from the Eev H. B. Macartney copies of the Gleaner for the months of August and September, 1883. It was resolved that the same bo distributed amongst the subscribers. The Treasurer stated that on Nov. 19 he paid £2 7s for advertising; that on the same day he remitted, in accordance with the resolution passed at last meeting, £5 through the Rev H. B. Macartney for general mission work at Tinnevelly. On Dec, 21 he remitted to Mr Macartney, in reply to his request, £2 for copies of the Gleaner. Mr Blakiston further reported having received, through the Very Eev the Dean of Christchurch, £4, first of an anonymous annual donation for the support of a youth at the Tinncvellymission, to be called “Valentine;” this sum had been sent on to Mr Macartney. The receipt, also, of £7 4s, from the children of St John’s Sunday school was further reported, and its transmission in the usual manner. The Secretary was requested to write to the Bishop of Tinnevelly for information for the annual meeting of the Association, and to order, through the Diocesan Book Dep6t, a set of diagrams, “ India and the Hindoos,” with handbook. It was resolved to request subscribers to pay their subscriptions for the year July, 1883-1884. The Committee then adjourned.
