T [HE STEANGE AND PREVAILING DISEASE OF THIS COUNTEY. Like a thief at night it steals in upon ns unawares. Many persons hare pains about the chest and sides, and sometimes in the hack. They feel dull and sleepy; the mouth has a had taste, especially in the morning. A sort of sticky slime collects about the teeth. The appetite is poor. There is a feeling like a heavy load on the stomach; sometimes a faint all-gone sensation at the pit of the stomach which food does not satisfy. The eyes are sunken, the hands and feet become cold and feel clammy. After a while a cough sets in, at first dry, hut after a few months it is attended with a greenish coloured expectoration. The afflicted one feels tired all the while, and sleep does not seem to afford any rest. Alter a time he becomes nervous, irritable, and gloomy and has evil forebodings.' There is a giddiness, a sort of whirling sensation in the head when rising up suddenly. The bowels become costive; the skin is dry and hot at times; the blood becomes thick and stagnant; the whites of the eyes become tinged with yellow; the nrin is scanty and high coloured, depositing a sediment after standing. There is frequently a spitting up of the food, sometimes with a sour taste, and sometimes with a sweetish taste: this is frequently attended with palpitation of the heart; the vision becomes impaired, with spots before the eyes; there is a feeling of great prostration and weakness. All of these symptoms are in turn present. It |s thought that nearly one-third of our population has this disease in soma of its varied forms. It has been found that medical men have mistaken the nature of this disease. Some have treated it for liver complaint, seme for dyspepsia, others for kidney disease, & 0., &0., hut none of the various kinds of treatment have been attended with success. It is found, however, that Seigel's Curative Syrup will effect a perfect cure in every case. Twelve months ago I was induced to try Seigel s Syrup, and although rather sceptical, having tried so many reputed infallible remedies, I determined to give it at least a fair trial. In two or three days I felt considerably better, and now at the end of twelve months (having continued taking it) I am glad to say that I am a different being altogether. Itia said of certain pens that they ‘ oeme as a boon and a blessing to men,' and I have no reason to doubt the truthfulness of the statement, I can truly say, however, that Seigel’s Syrup has come os a * boon and a blessing ’to me. 1 Save recommended it to several fellow sufferers from this diseasing complaint, and their testimony is quite in accordance with my own. _ Gratitude tor the benefit I have derived from this excellent preparation prompts me to furnish you with this unsolicited testimonial. “ I ora, Dear Sir, “ Yours ever gratefully, (Signed) “Caret B.
