SUMNER TOWN BOARD.

An adjourned meeting of the above Board was held on Friday last. A letter from the Colonial Secretary was road, appointing Mr G. L. Lee Judge of the Assessment Court. With reference to the Heberdon road, it was resolved onthemotionof Commissioner Wheeler, seconded by Commissioner Graham—“ That the noticosbc sent to the Heathcote Eoad Board and the Solwyn County Council, as provided by sections 82 and S 3 of the ‘ Public Works Act, 1876.’” It was further resolved that the Works Committee see what contributions can be got for this work. Councillor Appleby was requested to see Mr Kitsou re portion of this road running through Mr Graham’s land. With reference to the Creek it was resolved that this matter stand over till next meeting. Proposed by Commissioner Appleby, seconded by Commissioner Cambridge “Thatthe Board recommend the Judge of the Assessment Court to appoint Mr A. E. Watson as valuer for the district.” Carried. It was resolved that a special meeting be hold on May 2 to receive and consider the balance-sheet.

Commissioners Appleby and Wheeler were instructed to find out the Board’s position re formation of streets.

Tenders for quarrying and breaking 100 yards of stone at the cutting were opened, and that of Messrs Whittington and Cutler, for 4s lOd per cubic yard, accepted. After passing accounts for payment, and reading the financial statement, the meeting adjourned.
