Axlbqbd Labobht.— Thomas Stanley was charged with stealing four table forks and a sheet, value 4s 63, the property of William Brand Overall. Mr Button appeared for the accused, who pleaded not guilty. Inspector Pender applied for a remand to Amberley where the offence was alleged to have been committed, and the witnesses lived. Mr Button asked to hear some of the particulars which necessitated a remand in so trivial a case. The neighbours had seen him assisting witness’ wife. Asked him if he knew anything about his wife. Accused said he had seen her at Bangiora. Last Saturday week saw accused get off the engine of which ho was the driver, and cany a bag to 77, Bast Town Belt. Went into the house, where he found his wife, and an album and a number of other things belonging to him. The Bench suggested that, as the case seemed to be incomplete, the information should be amended. Inspector Pender decided to ask for a remand. The Bench granted a remand till Thursday, and admitted the accused to bail, himself in £2O, and one surety in the like amount.
