Bxpiaiutiok. This diagram ahowe the weather over temperate latitude* of Australia and New Zealand. The dotted linos or uobabs connect equal readings of the barometer at 9 a,m. on the above date, and thus indicate the general circulation of the atmosphere, the wind always following the lines, changing its direction aa they change, and increasing in force according to the amount of difference of barometer which they express. The arrow* fly with the wind, which always blows in a contrary direction to the movement of the hands of a clock round an area of man barometer, and with the olook hands round a tow barometer or cyclonic area. Change* of weather chiefly arise from the eastward progress of these latter disturbances at a rate of 300 to 600 miles in 24 hours. All local deflections of the isobabs due to the shape of the land are omitted.

LOCAL EEPOET. Rainy weather prevailed yesterday, with a light south-west wind. The barometer was falling throughout the day, and at 9 p.m. bad receded to 29'76, with a further downward tendency.
