(Liuksd) Be port on the local wool sales as follows: —Our fifth wool sale of the season was held at the Christchurch Wool and Oram Wore* houses on Wednesday. There was a good attendance, and from the fact that now buyers were present spirited competition was anticipated, bat as the sale progressed it was evident that a wide divergence existed between the views of buyers and sellers. The result was that only 637 bales were placed out of a catalogue of 1168 bales. Oross-breds, whether in grease or scoured, a decline of 10 to 16 per cent. Scoured merino elicited keen competition, but clips in the grease were much neglected.
