Loughnra applied for a transfer of the license of the White Swan, In Tuam street, from John Barrett, a* executor of the late Peter Connelly, to Margaret Connelly, widow of deceased. Mr Inspector Pender offered no opposition. The Committee granted the application. They expressed at toe same time the opinion that tot notice of application should be advertised in toe same newspaper on three oonieoßtlve days. A meeting of the Port Levy Licensing Committee was held at the Road Board office, at noon, on Monday ; present—Meesre John Gebbie, William Qebbie, B. W. Bradley, and A. Urqiibart. Mr John Gebbie was elected

chairman of the Committee. Sergeant Morioo’s report on the public houses in the district was read and considered very satisfactory. A conditional license was granted to Mr E. Pymm, of the Wheatshsaf hotel, for Thursday next, on the occasion of the Port Victoria races. MANDEYILLS AND EANGIO3A. The first meeting of this Committee was hold at Bragiora, at uooi, yesterday j present —Messrs J. Hurts, J. lowthian Wilson rad R. Idggot. On the motion of Mr Wilson, seconded by Mr Ligget, Mr Horse was elected Chairman for the ensuing year. Subsequently Meters Ivory and Jolmtteu appeared on the scene, and wished to raise objections, but matters were allowed td remain as they were.
