This diagram shows the wether over temperate latitudes of Australia and New Zealand. The dotted lino* or MOBabs oonneot equal reading* of the barometer at 9 sun. on the above date, and thus indicate the general circulation of the atmosphere* the wind alwaye following the lines, changing ita direction as they change, and increasing in foroo according to the amount of difference of barometer which they express. s The arrows fly with the wind, whioh always blows in a contrary direction to the movement of the hands of a dock round an area of HIGH barometer, and with the clock hands round a low .barometer or oyolonio area. Changes «f weather ohiefly arise from tho eastward progress of these latter disturbances at a rate o? 800 to 500 miles in 24 hoars. All local donations of the xsobabs due to the nhapo of the limd are omitted.
