[Reuter’s Telegrams.] FUNDS FOR THE PERSECUTED JEWS. ' LONDON, Feb. 1. A large and influential meeting was held to-day at the Mansion House, for the purpose of taking steps to raise funds to assist the Russian Jews. A powerful Committee was appointed to carry out the objects of the meeting, . and £15,000 were subscribed in the room. ARREST OP A BANK MANAGER. PARIS. Feb. J. M. Bouleux, manager of the Union Generaleßank, which recently suspended payment, has been arrested in consequence of disclosures made in connection with the conduct of the affairs of the institution. SYMPATHY WITH PERSECUTED JEWS. NEW YORK, Feb. 1. A largely attended public meeting was held here to-day, at which resolutions of sympathy with the position of the Jews in Russia were passed. It was also resolved to communicate with the Government and request it to intercede with the Czar, with a view to steps being taken to stay persecutions of Jews in his Empire. WAR VOTE IN AUSTRIA. VIENNA, Feb. 1. The Austro-Hungarian delegations, at their sitting to-day, voted a war credit of eight million florins (£800,000) to meet, the expenses of the army to be despatched to quell the rising in the southern provinces.
