TRADES BOWING CLUB BACKS. The double-soulling race in connection with tho above Club, for the Committee's prize, was started laßt evening. Out of thirteen entries for the raoe nine came to the post. The first three heats resulted as follows :■— FIRST HEAT. Eolipw (south bank) J. Freeman, stroke ;H. Wigsdl, bow ...••• 1 Cygnet (north bank) etroko } J. Brunt, bow .... ... 3 This was rather a hollow affair, Freeman leading from start to finish, winning easily by about six lengths. BBOOND HEAT. Eclipse south bank F. Wigzall, stroke ; F. Gee, bow 1 Cygnet- (uorth bank)—F. Bowe, stroke; Baker, bow 2 Both boats got away to a good start, Wigzall leading slightly until he reached Cowlishaw's, when he inoroased his lead to about two lengths, ultimately winning by four lengths. THIBD HEAT. Eclipse—(south bank)—E. Wells, stroke} J. Paul, bow ■» ••• 1 Cygnet—(north bank) —F. Haddrel, stroke; J. Harrison, bow 2 Both caught tho water at once, and continued abreast till they reached Bobinson's oorner, when Wells obtained a slight lead, whioh he increased, and ultimately won oomfortably by about three lengths and a half. The following heats will be contested this evening at six o'olook, and the remainder on Saturday afternoon : Fourth heat —J. Myers, stroke ; A. Bunge, bow, versus A. Hills, stroke j 0. Morriß, bow. Fifth heat— J. Freeman, stroke j H. Wigzall, bow, versus F. Wigzall, stroke; F. Gee, bo*. Sixth heat—A. Newman, stroke ; J. Stevenson, bow, versus E. Wells, stroke j J. Paul, bow. UNION ROWING CLUB. Mr Sandstein's prize for the double sculls race will be rowed for to-mor-. row, oommenoing at half-past two o'olook. The following are the crews:—First heat: 0. F. Bowley (stroke) and S. B. Lough (bow) in the Daphne, against E. H. Woledge (stroke) and W. G. Atack (bow) in the Dolphin. Final heat: G. F. Wright (stroke) and H. D. Hißge (bow), against the winners of the first heat.
