jn the House of Commons to-day Sir ■Henry Drummond Wolff introduced a motion in favour of a refusal being - yen to Mrßradlaugh’sclaim for exemption from taking the oath. The House jjegatived the motion, but allowed an amended proposal to be referred to a Select Committee, A.t the wool sale to-day, 9300 bales ■ have been offered, making a total of °Bl,Boo catalogued since the opening, The tone of the sale was rather weaker. gir William Vernon Harconrt, who „as appointed Home Secretary in the ne w Ministry, but defeated in seeking re-election for Oxford, has been elected for Darby in place of Mr Samuel Plimsoll, resigned.
