ROAD BOARDS.
AVON. This Board met on Monday last; nresent—• the Chairman and all the members. The report of the Foreman of Works was read.—• A'letter was received from a resident on the Church property, asking that something might be done towards forming the road leading through section 243s 1 . The Clerk was instructed to reply.—With regard to lowering a portion of the Fapanui road, decision was deferred, —Mr Dunlop saw the Board, and asked them to metal soma portion of the road leading to the properties. f ihe Surveyor was instructed to inspect and report by next meeting.—The Surveyor was instructed to call tenders ■ for shingle for various roads. —Correspondence was read—From J. Hahgood, asking for extension of time to complete his contract for screening shingle. The Surveyor was instructed to report.—From Mr 0. B. Taylor, relative to notice he had received to cease draining house slops on to the road. The Clerk was instructed to inform Mr Taylor that he must at once desist from draining house slops on to the road, and also to enclose copy of , clause of the Act.—From the Manager Union Bank of Australia.— Tenders were received for supplying pipes for current year, and that of Messrs Austin, Kirk and Co, accepted.—Accounts to the amount of £29410s were passed and ordered to be paid.
